California Polytechnic has embedded sustainability across all colleges, supported by the university-wide program "Teaching Sustainability Across the Curriculum". All graduating students must define and apply sustainability principles within their academic program. Cal Poly uses a living lab approach in sustainable agricultural education. A student-run experimental organic sustainable farm, an additional university-run organic farm, a ranch, and an agro-ecology learning garden, are all sites of integrated action-research and teaching.
