Institutional Approach

The Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Indonesia, envisions itself as a research-based university that leads in innovation, striving to become a techno-social entrepreneurial university excelling in agriculture, marine, and tropical biosciences. IPB’s main focus is on educating students to become techno-sociopreneurs, fostering community building, and actively participating in local-global connectivity. IPB's Center for Transdisciplinary and Sustainability Sciences (CTSS) aspires to be a pioneering institution in advancing complexity-based sustainability science. It places a strong emphasis on co-creating knowledge, drawing from both local traditional wisdom and contemporary insights through a transdisciplinary approach. In addition to its primary research endeavors, the Center provides training, workshops, and community engagement projects for sustainable development.
