Institutional Approach

Leuphana takes an innovative approach to the structure of undergraduate and graduate programs, with a central focus on education and Education for Sustainable Development parternships with the global south. Education programs include the Glocal Curriculum and its associated Global Sustainability Science Master’s program: an example of an international, inter and transdisciplinary research oriented, and sustainability problem focused approach that builds on a whole system commitment to sustainability. Most notably, all undergraduate students begin their time at Leuphana with a common 'Leuphana Semester' - a semester which aims to build interdisciplinary competency and provide students with critical and systems thinking and sustainability skills.
