Mälardalen is guided by the organisational principle of ‘institutional entrepreneurship’, stressing the individual's capacity and agency to contribute to institutional change. Malarden also incorporates external societal partnerships into all of their actions. All of the university's curriculum is co-produced with private and public external stakeholders to ensure skill relevance upon graduation, and internships and trainee positions are built into the curriculum.
