Institutional Approach

The Malmö Institute of Sustainable Urban Development is a joint collaboration between Malmö University and the City of Malmö, with the intention of driving transdisciplinary research and education for sustainable urban development. Students directly engage in sustainable urban renewal in pratice, in collaboration with urban planners and city officials. Projects are presented at a yearly 'Urban Strategic Forum', attended by the university community and city officials. The institute also disseminates an Urban Development Podcast, where students, researchers and practitioners discuss their problems, strategies and approach around sustainable urban planning.
