Institutional Approach

The National University of Kaohsiung (NUK), Taiwan, has integrated the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across four key domains: organizational operations, research endeavors, educational initiatives, and practical sustainability applications. The university is committed to achieving the SDGs by ensuring environmental sustainability and social inclusivity within its campus and programs. This commitment is reflected in the core governance of the institution, implementing the SDGs as a foundational element, fostering a green university concept, and strengthening collaborations with industry and society. To accomplish these goals, NUK has infused SDG metrics throughout its university curriculum. Additionally, it has developed it's own place-specific SDG course inventory tool aimed at mapping the covered SDGs and pinpointing areas that require further attention or improvement.
