Institutional Approach

NCSU has set 5 goals for a sustainable future: student leadership, research, on-campus initiatves, community and culture and communications. The Steering Committee on Student Food and Housing Security is working specifically on SDG 2: Zero Hunger, to address hunger and homelessness amongst students. Their mandate is for all students to have access to sufficient, nutritious, culturally appropriate, and affordable food & safe, stable, affordable housing. The university is leveraging the community's passion for sports to promote sustainability and the SDGs; the so-called 'Sustainable Wolfpack' promotes sustainability to college sports fans, green the athletics sector and use athletics facilities and events as a campus-as-a-living-lab test site.
