The Universidad de Chile All students are required to obtain sustainability 'competency'; transdisciplinary course base and social sustainability campus equity initiatives. Transdisciplinarity is a key pillar of research and education at the university; with programs such as the 'Transdisciplinary program on the environment', the 'Transversal Education Program' and the 'Risk and Disaster Reduction Program'. The university also operates a 'Sustainability Observatory' which functions to implement tools, metrics and evaluations of sustainability activities within the university, region, country, and continent.
