Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) is recognized as the first university in Malaysia to launch an Eco-Campus Action Plan. Eco-campus activities are monitored, benchmarked and implemented via the Pusat Pengurusan EcoCampus Management Centre, which functions as both a sustainability office for UMS and a sustainability consulting and advisory service in the themes of landscaping, sustainable energy, waste management and benchmarking. The Center also runs a variety of living labs for sustainable development.
