University College Cork (UCC) has broad-reaching initiatives to promote a sustainable campus and engage the entire university community in non-conventional ways in its sustainability goals, via its Green Campus program. The UCC Green Campus Living Laboratory Seed Fund supports projects that address real-life problems using the UCC campus as a testbed, prioritizing student-led initiatives. Also supporting living lab and student initiatives is the 'Green shoots' green campus program, which involves students in the maintenance, conservation and biodiversity stewardship of green spaces and sustainable agricultural production on campus. A Green Campus podcast series has also been produced to disseminate and publicize and promote community discourse around sustainability issues on campus. Furthermore, the University College Cork became the first University in the world to be awarded a Green Flag from the Foundation for Environmental Education for their Green Campus programme. They have generated an SDG toolkit to support SDG implementation on campus and in curriclum embedding. UCC also offers a 13-week core sustainability module to all students, staff and the general public, the 'University Wide Module in Sustainability'.
