The University of the West Indies, Jamaica, focuses on Education for Sustainable Development within the Caribbean setting, engaging students, policy-makers and other community members in educational activities. The Institute for Sustainable Development is globally active in particular within the mandate of SDG 13 (Climate Action), and they lead the Caribbean sector of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network. The University publishes a Climate Action Portal, developed in collaboration with the UN Development Programme, which functions as a gateway to all climate research and societal outreach and engagement activities at the university, with a specific focus on research focused on the Caribbean region, as well as leadership capacity building and technical environmental stewardship for the region. Their School of Education focuses on a teach-the-teacher approach to capacity building for Education for Sustainable Development. They offer a Masters in Education for Sustainable Development with different tracks for teachers or those pursuing development, humanitarian or community-based work.
