Warren Wilson College, USA, has a sustainability program which is student-led, implementing divestment policies and practices and a Carbon-free and biodiverse campus. Students work a mandatory 15 hrs/week in campus operations, including on a working farm, in gardens, and in natural preserves. A strong focus is also placed on a circular campus economy and zero-waste, with initiatives to refurbish and recycle electronic goods and appliances and implement as low water and electricity use as possible. Students have led sustainability initiatives for years, including spearheading the design and implementation of environmental building practices and the fossil fuel divestment policy.
